Liberty Blain, Owner

Liberty Blain is a professional land surveyor licensed in the state of Wyoming and practicing with a specialty in water rights. With over 25 years of experience in natural resources and water rights, she assists landowners and land managers in navigating permitting and compliance requirements. Her favorite work is investigating complex water rights and using a variety of tools to communicate the rights existing in the record (on paper) in comparison to what is actually happening on the ground.

From her work in the Wyoming State Engineer’s Office, the Laramie County Conservation District, and the University of Cooperative Extension Service, Liberty learned the importance of connecting with the local community when working on projects. Her recent years in private consulting allow her to directly apply her problem-solving skills for land surveying, water rights, and land management purposes. While obstacles are plentiful, she actively seeks solutions.

Liberty holds a B.S. in Horticulture from Michigan State University and an interdisciplinary M.S. in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management / Water Resources from the University of Wyoming. She also participated in the Cadastral Land Surveying Program at the University of Wyoming to become a licensed land surveyor.
